Please include your device (iPhone, iPad, Mac or Android), OS version and ByteBreak version (Settings → About).

Break reminders don’t arrive (version 4.0 and later)

  1. Check notifications are allowed: iPhone/iPad Settings → Notifications → ByteBreak. Mac: System Settings → Notifications → ByteBreak. Android: Settings → Apps → ByteBreak → Notifications.
  2. If you use a Focus mode (Do Not Disturb, Work), allow ByteBreak in that Focus.
  3. Android: turn off battery optimization for ByteBreak (Settings → Apps → ByteBreak → Battery → Unrestricted). Some phones stop scheduled notifications otherwise.
  4. Check your reminder settings in ByteBreak (Settings → Reminders): interval, working hours and days. Reminders stay quiet outside those hours. You don’t need to open the app for them to keep coming.

Can I get reminders on my Apple Watch?

There is no Apple Watch app. When your iPhone is locked, ByteBreak notifications appear on your Apple Watch automatically.

Can I get reminders on my Mac?

Yes, ByteBreak runs on Mac (macOS 14 or later). Download it from the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID; it’s the same free app. Closing the window doesn’t quit ByteBreak; it keeps running in the Dock.

Does my focus session keep running if I leave the app?

Yes. Closing the focus screen or switching apps doesn’t stop it. You get a notification when the block ends. Pause, reset or skip ends it early.

How do I delete my data?

Everything ByteBreak stores is on your device; deleting the app removes it. To delete the usage stats linked to your install, copy your Install ID from Settings → Privacy (version 4.0 and later) and email it to hello@bytebreak.app.

Is ByteBreak medical advice?

No. ByteBreak is a wellness reminder, not a medical device. If you have pain, numbness or vision problems, see a health professional.
