How do I download ByteBreak?
ByteBreak is available for free on the Apple App Store. Simply search for "ByteBreak" or click the download button on our homepage. The app works on iPhone (iOS 17+), iPad (iPadOS 17+), Mac with Apple Silicon (macOS 14+), and Apple Vision Pro (visionOS 1.0+).
Do I need to create an account?
No! ByteBreak works immediately after download with zero setup. There is no account creation, no login, and no sign-up required. All your data is stored locally on your device for maximum privacy.
How do I start my first focus session?
Open ByteBreak and tap the timer on the main screen. Choose your preferred interval (25, 45, or 60 minutes) and tap Start. The app will notify you when it's time for a break with optional sound and haptic feedback.
What devices are compatible?
ByteBreak supports iPhone (iOS 17+), iPad (iPadOS 17+), Mac with Apple Silicon running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, and Apple Vision Pro (visionOS 1.0+). The app is optimized for each platform with native interfaces.
Features & Settings
Can I customize focus timer intervals?
Yes! ByteBreak offers three interval options: 25, 45, and 60 minutes. You can switch between intervals at any time from the timer settings. You can also customize sound effects and haptic feedback for timer notifications.
How does hydration tracking work?
The hydration tracker lets you log drinks throughout the day. Choose from six types: water, coffee, tea, juice, smoothie, and energy drink. A visual progress ring shows your daily intake, and you can set reminders to stay hydrated.
What exercises are included?
ByteBreak includes guided stretches specifically designed for developers and desk workers. These target common problem areas: neck, eyes, wrists, back, and shoulders. Each exercise comes with step-by-step instructions and animations. Pro users get access to all exercise sets.
How do achievements and badges work?
Complete focus sessions, exercises, and hydration goals to earn XP (experience points) and unlock badges. Track your progress with weekly statistics and compete with yourself to build healthy habits. Streaks reward consistency — the longer you use ByteBreak daily, the more you earn.
Can I customize my avatar?
The Starter plan includes 1 avatar style. Pro and Annual subscribers can unlock custom avatars, themes, and personality options to make ByteBreak truly yours.
Account & Billing
Is ByteBreak really free?
Yes! The Starter plan is completely free forever — no ads, no hidden costs. It includes the Pomodoro timer, basic exercises, hydration tracking, and one avatar style. Pro ($4.99/mo) and Annual ($29.99/yr, save 50%) plans add detailed statistics, all exercise sets, custom themes, and more.
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. Go to Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions on your device, find ByteBreak, and choose your desired plan. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel, go to Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions on your iPhone/iPad, select ByteBreak, and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll continue to have access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund for any recent purchase. If you have any issues, feel free to contact us and we'll do our best to help.
General FAQ
Is my data private and secure?
Absolutely. ByteBreak stores all data locally on your device. We don't collect, track, or share any personal information. There are no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party SDKs. Your privacy is not just a feature — it's a core principle.
Does ByteBreak work offline?
Yes! ByteBreak works completely offline. All features including the timer, hydration tracking, exercises, and achievements work without an internet connection. The only time you need internet is for the initial download and updates.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?

Will ByteBreak come to Android?
